The day began early as I checked the weather on WEATHER.COM. It said there was a severe weather warning. WOW, it was that an intense heat wave was here, and temps were to be near 100 with the heat index over 110 today.
We decided to drive over to Blue Ridge, GA, one of our favorite spots. Its about an hour away across the mountain. It has really grown since we first visited about 10 years ago. We enjoyed the visit. On our return trip we stopped Ducktown, TN (photo to follow) and at a grocery in Turtle Town, TN.
About half way back, we stopped off at Fields of the Wood. A religious spot that has the 10 Commandments written on the Mountain (photo below).

Our vist to Blue Ridge, GA always calls for a stop at Mercier Orchards. Apples don't get any better than this. The first of the apples were just picked and the last of the peaches were there.
