We drove from our campground to Gananoque, about 45 miles West to the docks for the boat tour of the 1000 Islands. The tour began at 12:00N. There are actually 1864 Islands. The definition of an Island here, is a spit of land that contains 2 trees and land of 6 X 6. You will see from the photos that there are Houses and Islands of all sizes. The Boldt Mansion was started by the owner of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel for his wife. When she abruptly died, he stopped construction and never finished it. (He also had his chef prepare a dish once and it became, of course, 1000 Island Dressing.

Below is the Yacht House for the Boldt Mansion. This was built to house the Yachts that would bring them from the Mainland to the Island. Notice how tall the three doors are.
This is the bridge that connects the US and Canada from I-81 in New York, to CA 401 in Ontario.
